This describes how this store handles personal information. It describes what the system actually does, not what a template says it might.
What we collect
- Order information — name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number, and the contents of the order.
- Payment information — collected and processed by our payment provider. Card numbers never reach our systems and we do not store them.
- Cart contents — held in a signed cookie in your browser so your cart survives a page reload. It holds product identifiers and quantities, not personal details.
- Support correspondence — the messages you send us and our replies.
How we use it
To take payment, order your goods from our distributor, deliver them to you, provide support, handle returns and warranty claims, and meet tax and accounting obligations. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Who we share it with
- Shopify, which hosts our checkout, processes payment, calculates tax and holds the order record.
- HUBX, our distributor, which receives the delivery details needed to supply your order.
- Carriers, which receive the delivery address and your contact details for delivery notifications.
- Our hosting and storage providers, which run this site and store its product images.
Each receives only what it needs for that purpose, and none of them may use it for their own marketing.
Cookies
This store sets one functional cookie, which holds your cart and is signed so it cannot be tampered with. We set no analytics or advertising cookies. Blocking the cart cookie will stop the cart working. Our checkout is hosted by Shopify and sets its own cookies, covered by Shopify's privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for 7 years to meet tax and accounting requirements. Support correspondence is kept for 2 years. The cart cookie expires on its own.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email contact@essentialsetup.com and we will respond within 45 days. We offer these rights to every customer as a matter of practice, whether or not the privacy law where you live requires it of a business our size.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS, payment is handled by a PCI-compliant provider, and access to order data is limited to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell affected customers about a breach that puts their information at risk.
Children
This store is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
